The 80c is a welcome, full-RGB upgrade to the 60x line, and is even comparable in output to the 300x at some color temps and distances. The BLAIR-CG (Blue/Lime/Amber/Indigo/Red/Cyan/Green) light engine allows it to have more punch at the more efficient power draw, and has a much wider range and a more pleasing color accuracy than the previous Aputure LEDs. The calibrated indigo emitter enhances fluorescing materials, resulting in white light that better matches natural daylight and tungsten.
It’s incredibly compact, portable, and riggable, with an optional handgrip and battery/dtap power or even USB-C power from cheaper power banks. Uses a new ‘mini ProLock’ and needs an adapter to be used with existing standard bowens mount accessories. Can be controlled with Sidus Mesh, CRMX, and DMX. IP65 dust and weather protection means the 80c can be used outside in the rain.
